The following are resources are available to help you understand the screenings that are recommended for diabetics and when, and to help you understand the benefits, and any risks, of regular diabetic screening.

Are you worried about cost?

Remember, under the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act (PPACA) some diabetic screenings are covered at no cost to insured patients. Contact your health insurer to verify benefits available to you. The following are the guidelines under PPACA:
  • Gestational diabetes screening for women 24 to 28 weeks pregnant and those at high risk of developing gestational diabetes
  • Type 2 Diabetes screening for adults with high blood pressure

Financial Resources

The cost of diabetic treatment can be burdensome, especially if you do not have adequate or any insurance coverage at all. The following tools will provide an estimated retail cost of medical services and medications.
